Things To Do At The Y
Child Care Programs
Learn + Play + Grow
The Elkins Y offers a range of affordable childcare programs to support families while you work or work out. These programs are provided through our Legg Family Youth Center, located on Davis Ave, ensuring that your child receives high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. We currently offer a Summer Day Camp program—designed to help your child learn, play, and grow.
Summer Day Camp
Our Summer Day Camp offers action-packed days filled with laughter, friendship, and physical activity for children entering 1st grade through children entering 5th grade. Each day features a variety of engaging activities such as pool time in our renovated facility, creative arts and crafts sessions, fun games, sports, and exciting field trips—including outdoor play at our pool’s green space and nearby Elkins City Park.
Registration for our 2026 Summer Day Camp will open March 30th.

Our Commitment to Safety and Equality
At the YMCA, every staff member and volunteer is a mandated reporter. This means that if there is any reasonable cause to suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, we are legally and ethically obligated to report it to the proper authorities. Our commitment to this responsibility ensures that every child who walks through our doors feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
In addition, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, we prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives federal funding. We work every day to foster an inclusive environment where all children and families can thrive. For the complete nondiscrimination policy, please visit our Policies.
