Teams & Leagues at the Y

Mighty Mites Basketball
(K–1st and 2nd-3rd Grade divisions)

Mighty Mites is ideal for younger players who are just getting started with basketball. Emphasis is on fun, basic skills, and learning the rules of the game.

Registration for the current season is closed. Check back in October 2026 for information on the 2026-27 season!

Season & Schedule

• Season: October 27th – January 3rd
• Practices: Start week of October 27th
• Games: Saturday games start November 15th, followed by an end-of-season tournament (2nd–3rd Grade division).

Fees & Registration

• Fees: $60 YMCA members/$80 non-members for sign-ups received by October 10th.
• Registration:
  • Sign up online or in person at the YMCA.
  • Registration is due by October 10th. A $20 late fee per child will apply after October 10th.
  • No sign-ups will be accepted after October 17th.
• Rules: Review the Youth Basketball Parent Handbook.
• Evaluation: Choose an evaluation time and attend to be assigned to a team.

Jerry West League (4th–5th Grade)

This league offers a balanced mix of friendly competition and skill development. Players learn fundamental techniques such as dribbling, shooting, and teamwork, all in a supportive environment.

• Games: Saturdays starting January 10th at Elkins Middle School, 8 game schedule followed by a tournament.

Become a Coach

Interested coaches must complete the Volunteer Coach Application and submit it to the league coordinator, then complete child safety training before attending the coaches’ meeting.
