You’ll get to work out with friends and neighbors, learn from certified instructors who help you meet your goals, and enjoy a variety of workouts that keep you motivated. All fitness levels are welcome.

General Guidelines for All Activities
- If you feel sick, please stay home.
- Always sign in and out at the front desk.
- Bring your own water bottle and any personal items you need (like a yoga mat).
- Wipe down YMCA equipment with provided disinfectant before and after use.
- Wear appropriate and comfortable clothing that lets you move freely.
- Review our Policy & Procedures page.

Morning Low-Impact Aerobics
Start your day off energized with instructor Raymond Godwin. Morning Aerobics combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines. Aerobics improves flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness, and provides a total body workout.

Circuit & Stability
Get ready to work! Our Circuit & Stability class is designed to improve balance, strength, and overall fitness for active older adults. The “Stability” component focuses on balance and fall prevention, and “Circuit” components incorporate both cardio and strength training.

Les Mills BODYPUMP
BODYPUMP is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout.
Can’t make it to class? We also offer Les Mills programs in our Virtual Fitness Studio.

Senior Stretch
Build and maintain your flexibility and balance in this 45 minute class that incorporates stretching and basic yoga moves. Participants may choose to stand or sit. This class does not include any floor work or deep bending. Shoes are recommended for balance.

Vinyasa Yoga — Beginner

Basic Yoga
In this beginner yoga class, you will learn simple and easy to follow yoga flows that will build your flexibility, body awareness, and resiliency. It also is a practice that reduces stress. All students or all levels are welcome.

Vinyasa Yoga — Intermediate
This class builds on the fundamentals of Vinyasa Yoga and incorporates more core strengthening and hip opening poses. Slightly faster paced than Beginners class. Some yoga experience recommended.

Martial Arts
Shotokan Karate
Shōtōkan is a fusion-style karate format developed by Gichin and Gigo Funakoshi in Japan in 1938 from several styles of martial arts. The philosophy of the art is based largely on bushido and Zen with a focus on seeking perfection of character, faithfulness, endeavoring to excel, respecting others, and refraining from violent behavior.
Form and rhythm techniques include katas and sparring which include kicks, twists, turns, punches, steps, sweeps, strikes, jumps, dropping to the ground, and blocks. Participants become healthier, stronger, and more confident and patient while benefiting from enhanced physical and mental fitness and learning valuable self-defense skills.

Karate Kids
Our Karate Kids class is a high-energy, 30-minute class for children ages 5-10 years of age. Kids will learn the basics of karate, including stances, punches, kicks, and blocks, all while having a ton of fun. This class is for kids who are new to martial arts and are looking to start their journey in a fun learning environment. Karate Kids offers the perfect foundation for a future in karate! No Gi required! Please bring a water bottle.
YMCA membership and registration are required to participate.

Tai Chi

Instructor Jeff Goodman trained in Yang-Style Tai Chi during the late 1980s in northern California, learning from an instructor from Hong Kong. In good weather, classes meet at Glendale Park.

Instructor Bob McCoy leads Tai Chi sessions that focus on relaxed, mindful practice. In good weather, Monday and Wednesday classes may meet at the train depot. Friday classes meet at the YMCA.

Water Fitness Classes
Senior Water Aerobics
Senior Water Aerobics is a gently guided, social swim time for active older adults. Stay active without the joint stress of land-based classes. Exercising in water is a perfect exercise for all fitness levels and ages as it puts less stress on the joints and the buoyancy of the water helps reduce the pressure on joints.

H20 Water Aerobics
H20 Water Aerobics is lead by Dr. Heather Biola. Water also acts as a form of resistance, so strength exercises can be performed in the water without heavy weights. This class includes exercises such as aqua jogging, flutter kicking, leg lifts and arm curls.

You can participate in your favorite Les Mills classes including BodyPump, BodyFlow, BodyCombat and Sh'Bam in our virtual fitness studio. Just book the room online or by calling the Y and choose your class and format.
