Y Members, Welcome Back!

what to expect during your first visit

We look forward to seeing you! Here's some information we think you need to know before you make your first visit with us!

  1. Please enter through the main lobby doors and check-in at the front desk. 
  2. You will notice our staff is behind plexiglass screens and are wearing protective masks. The Governor's guidelines requires members to also "wear appropriate facial coverings to the greatest extent possible" while in the facility. Please wear a face covering like a cloth mask, or a bandana when entering the building and while doing low cardio exercise and weight lifting. 
  3. You will be asked to complete a COVID-19 Waiver upon entering the facility if you haven't already completed one online. Youth members ages 13 and up who are visiting without a parent must bring a signed COVID-19 Waiver with them to enter the facility.   4. Please accompany your children 12 and under in the facility. 
  5. You will find sanitizing stations with hand sanitizer and/or equipment wipes in every room.
  6. To help limit transactions at the front desk, we ask that you go online, e-mail info@elkinsymca.com or call the Y at 304-636-4515 to renew or make changes to your membership.
  7. You will see that our equipment is spaced to allow for appropriate physical distancing. 
  8. Right now, our locker rooms are closed. Please use the lobby restrooms.
  9. Please bring your own water bottle. Our water fountains are closed for now but we have a water bottle filling station in the lobby.
  10. When you are finished your workout, please check out with front desk staff so that we can monitor our facility capacity.  

Based on the Governor’s guidelines, the following areas in the facility are allowed to open during our initial reopening plan:

  • Cardio Room and “Yellow” Fitness Room
  • Weight Room Area and “Blue” Fitness Room
  • Lobby and lobby restrooms

We will regularly update this list of available spaces and programs in the days and weeks to come. 

Please remember that if you are sick, we ask that you stay home. If you have a fever or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last two-weeks, please stay home for your own health and wellness, as well as for our other members and staff.
